• Quantitative Geneticist: Welfare Breeding Strategy Lead

  • Define and deliver selective-breeding strategies targeting neurological traits like pain and distress in shrimp, chickens (and later other species).

• Comparative Genomicist: Pain & Welfare Biology Lead

  • Design cross-species genomic screens to flag and filter genotypes linked to severe distress, improving welfare across animals.

• Shrimp Affective Phenotyping Ethologist / Neuroscientist

  • Create and validate behavioral and physiological assays that quantify welfare-relevant traits in shrimp and integrate precision-farming tools. 

• Director of Animal Genetics

  • Lead APRI’s genetics research programs, publish in peer-reviewed journals, and forge academic and industry partnerships.

Administrative & Support Roles
APRI’s scientific breakthroughs rely on a strong operations backbone. Join our team in one of these critical support roles:

• Major Gifts Officer & Fundraisers

  • Drive grant writing, prospect research, donor relations, and strategic fundraising initiatives.

• Bookkeeper

  • Maintain financial records, process invoices, manage payroll, and prepare monthly reports.

• HR Coordinator

  • Handle recruiting, onboarding, benefits administration, and compliance with employment regulations.

• Administrative Assistant

  • Provide executive support and manage correspondence, calendar coordination, and travel logistics.

• IT Administrator

  • Configure and maintain APRI’s network, servers, and desktop environments; troubleshoot hardware and software issues.

• Communications & Outreach Coordinator

  • Draft internal and external communications, manage social media channels, and support event logistics.
